Notes:

  • Renewal of DL after two (2) years from the expiry date shall require the holder to take and pass the theoretical and practical examination and pay the corresponding penalty in addition to the basic fee.
  • Filipinos working/living abroad may renew their DL on-line or through their authorized representative upon presentation of necessary documents. The licensee shall present him/herself to LTO upon arrival in the Philippines for capture of photo and presentation of Official Receipt and submission of medical certificate.
  • Renewal of Philippine DL after two (2) years from the expiry date but with valid Foreign DL – DL Code shall be retained for Philippine DL if the valid Foreign DL has the same DL Code.

Procedures for LTMS Portal Renewal of Driver’s License Online

To renew your LTO driver’s license online through LTMS, simply follow these steps:

Step 1. Log in to the LTMS online portal using your account email or the 15-digit LTO client number and your nominated password.

Step 2. In the LTMS dashboard, select Licensing. If your account is newly registered, complete a form with your personal information after clicking Licensing. Once done, return to the dashboard by clicking Licensing again.

Step 3. Accept the LTMS Terms of Use by clicking the blue Accept button.

Step 4. On the Online Application form, choose Driver’s License as the License Classification. Do not proceed; instead, click Add Medical Certificate, input your Medical Certificate Number, and click Verify.

Step 5. Select Renewal as the application type, then click Next.

Step 6. Choose your appointment schedule and preferred LTO Office.

Step 7. Pay the renewal fees through your preferred payment channel.

Step 8. Visit your selected LTO Office on the scheduled appointment date. Note that even if you processed the renewal online, a visit to the LTO office is still required.
