How to File a Petition for Change of Venue of LTO Registration at LTFRB

If you’re a Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) holder and you find yourself needing to transfer to another Land Transportation Office (LTO) District Office for registration purposes, you may need to file a petition for a change of venue at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) office.

The need to file for a petition for a change of venue often arises when the current registration location is too distant from the operator’s principal office or residence which could pose logistical challenges and hinder efficient operations, hence the need for a change of LTO registration venue. To file a Petition for Change of Venue of LTO Registration, here’s a guide on the requirements and procedures of doing so via the LTFRB.

What is the Petition for Change of Venue of LTO Registration

The Petition for Change of Venue of LTO Registration is a formal request submitted by CPC holders to LTFRB to transfer their registration location from one LTO Office to another. This petition is made in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the LTFRB in Memorandum Circular 2008-023. With the provisions of the new memorandum, operators are now allowed to file a petition to change the venue of LTO registration, provided that there is justifiable circumstance and the proposed venue aligns with the principal office address of the said operator.

The petition for change of venue of LTO registration is a service offered by the agency not only to improve their services but also to address logistical challenges faced by operators whose current registration location is too far from their principal office or residence, thereby facilitating more efficient operations. The LTFRB reviews each petition and makes a decision based on the provided information and adherence to the guidelines outlined in the memorandum circular.
